John R. ShultzJohn Russel Shultz was born in Bellingham, Washington, on October 4, 1949. He served in the U.S. Air Force between 1968 and 1972, and was in Vietnam from 1972-1973. He attended Western University from 1973-1974, University of California at Berkeley in 1975, and University of Washington, where he received a B.A. in Environmental Design and Architecture in 1977, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He attended the Gonzaga University School of Law from 1978-1982, and was on the Gonzaga Law Review.

John and Connie Shultz have been married since 1974. They have two children, John, 27 and wife Kira, and Erika, 25.

Mr. Shultz was admitted into the Washington State Bar Association in 1982, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington in 1983, and the U.S. Supreme Court in 1991. Mr. Shultz has an extensive practice in Personal Injury and Auto Accident work, Building and Construction law, Business law, and Governmental and Municipal law.

Mr. Shultz was employed by Winston & Cashett, Lawyers in Spokane, Washington, from 1979-1982; Dolack, Hansler, Hulscher & Barline in Tacoma, Washington from 1982-1983; was Staff Attorney for the U.S. Veterans Administration in Seattle, Washington from 1983; Bannister, Bruhn & Clark, Mount Vernon, 1984-1987; Law Offices of John R. Shultz in Mount Vernon, Washington, 1987-1999; and Law Office of John R. Shultz in Burlington, Washington from 1999-present. Mr. Shultz has resided in Mount Vernon since 1983.
